Ups and Downs

It has been an interesting week with lots of ups and downs. Two weeks is probably more appropriate. Our little man had a set back in growth and we discovered that he is anemic. We really kept it to ourselves for a while because, honestly, I have a hard time talking about it. Updating a large group of people on something that makes you feel a bit like a failure is just difficult. But, I got the good news this week that he has already gained a pound back in the two weeks since his last appointment. So he just had a little dip and it really should not be a big deal long term. Praise the Lord.

Then, great news, we met our t-shirt goal! We have been selling t-shirts to help spread the word and raise funds for our adoption. We were hoping to sell 75 shirts and we sold exactly 76 shirts! Only the Lord could have done it. We had several people order shirts that we don't even know and some just support us on top of that. I have been overwhelmed by how the Lord has used His people for His glory!

Then, we found out that our adoption application was lost in the mail. I was so upset and deeply frustrated. But I know that God has purpose in it. We are filling it out again and I have just been so blessed by how God is showing me Himself in the little things. He is SO good. I'm not saying that it is not difficult, or frustrating, or hard on my emotions. It is. But I know that God has a plan even in this. I don't know what the plan is, but I know it exists. I'm confident. I am prayerful. And I am further reminded that this process will always have its ups and downs.

9 Months

Happy 9 Months, Little Man!

I thought his picture should include his favorite thing...a spoon. He LOVES food.

Fun facts for month nine:
Weight: 16lbs
Height: 27 inches
Eating: Every 4-5hrs during the day (but he eats fooorever because he likes to eat so much)
Sleeping: 2 naps per day
Diaper: Size 3 diapers
Clothing: 6-12 months, 9 months

What's new for month nine:
  • He LOVES solid food - he eats for maybe an hour at every meal because he LOVES food
  • He is saying MAMA when he wants me, "mmmmm" and bangs the table for more food, shakes his head for "no", and says "dyadya...aaahdadada" but we cannot tell if he means the last one or not
  • He loves people! People, people, people! He does not like to be alone.
  • RB and him have been sharing a room for a couple months now and I think he really loves it. They are getting along so well most of the time!
  • He is babbling a lot of different consonants
  • He is getting better at playing without being in my lap, exploring
  • He loves to bang things together and on other things
  • He is a pulling up machine!
  • He is getting closer to a genuine crawl. He can get around in his normal way, but he is trying to do it differently to be more efficient.
  • He is much better at napping now, praise the Lord.
  • He occasionally wakes up at night, just for a minute
  • He is so grabby! I sort of, not really, want to shave my head.
  • He is a talker! He has started doing this funny growling sound
  • He loves to follow RB around with his eyes, he really obviously loves her
  • He is starting to like reading more!
  • He talks to people and objects
  • His favorite toy is any type of ball!
  • He loves being outside!!
  • We recently found out our little man is anemic so he is taking a vitamin supplement - we are praying this goes away quickly

He loves spending time outside!
Mom! Hand over the blueberries!

He wants to eat his letter

Cuddling up

"Hold You!"

This is what he thought of the water wall

He liked it better from the comfort of my arms (water wall)

Selfies and silly faces

He just now decided that baths are awesome

Fundraising y'all

So, fundraising is difficult for me. It's not that I don't have cool stuff to sell or I'm not doing other things to raise this money. It's not that. It's that we want to bring this child home as fast as humanly possible and we cannot do that without raising some funds. I want you to know that my husband is working and we save part of that paycheck. I am working part-time and all of that money goes to adoption. Each cake/cupcakes/pastries/etc I sell goes toward our adoption. And y'all these t-shirts are for our adoption too.

We are going to do auctions, we are going to sell other things, but these t-shirts are so cute! Not only do they help us fund our adoption, but they get the word out. They help other people, hopefully, get excited about adoption as well. They help others see how God is working through adoption because He first adopted us!

Our goal is to sell 75 shirts and we have sold 50. We are so close! Here's how it works (people have been asking): We are pre-selling the shirts which means you give us the cost and your size of shirt in advance. Then, once we have sold all 75 shirts, we will put in the order and you get your shirt! Please help us out! Please.
